CAF postpones Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers ( African zone) has been postponed by the Confederation of African Football.

The CAF Emergency Committee, confirmed the postponement on Thursday after consultation with the World Football Governing Body (FIFA).

The qualifiers were previously scheduled for June 2021, but has now been shifted forward due to the current challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The African Football Governing Body explained that there is need to ensure the optimal playing conditions for all participating teams.

Meanwhile the qualifiers will now take place between September, October and November 2021, and March 2022.
