Plateau United, MFM FC and Akwa United all progressed to the next round of their respective CAF club competitions on Wednesday.
Plateau defeated Eding Sport; home and away, to book a first round qualification spot in the CAF Champions League – against Etoile du Sahel.
In the same vain, MFM FC pipped Real Bamako 1-0 in Lagos to wrap up the Champions League tie 2-1 on aggregate.
In the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, Akwa United overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit against Banjul Hawks; picking their hosts apart in a comfortable 2-0 win on the road.
The impressive results elicited encomiums from The League Management Company (LMC) Chairman, Shehu Dikko.
Speaking with brila.net, Dikko said he believes the results achieved by the clubs will help boost the perception of the NPFL.
