El Kanemi Warriors have been dumped out of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-1 second-leg defeat to Dadje FC on Saturday.

Locked in a qualification battle with the Benin Republic side, El-Kanemi drew the first-leg of their Preliminary round fixture, 1-1, in Ikenne.

In the return leg, Dadje dictated the tempo of the game and deservedly took the lead on the half hour mark through Bless Salassi.

Although the Nigerian side drew level, seven minutes later, to keep the aggregate score at 2-2, they were undone in the second half.

Salassi yet again the tormentor in chief struck the death blow with only nine minutes of regular time left on the clock.

The Nigerian Cup champions couldn’t find a response, and the final whistle saw they aspirations for Continental football abruptly ended.
