Nigeria League Champions, Enugu Rangers were beaten 3-0 by Zesco United in the second-leg of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off in Ndola on Saturday.
The result means the Flying Antelopes have failed to secure a group stage spot in the second tier of CAF club football tournament.
Previously, the Nigerian club was dumped out of the CAF Champions League race in the second round by Egyptian side, Zamalek SC.
On this occasion, a John Chinándu brace in the first half and a third goal from Jesse Jackson Were dealt the NPFL champions a combination of blows it couldn’t recover from.
The very rampant Zesco side ensured the match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium was a no contest, as they wrapped up the tie 5-2 on aggregate.
The first leg of the encounter ended 2-2 in Enugu last week, after the Zambia side rallied from a 2-0 first half deficit to finish strongly, by scoring two second half equalizers.
