CAF CC: Enyimba Coach Admits Club Knows Very Little About Opponent… But Banks On Club History to Prevail

Enyimba Head Coach, Olanrewaju Yemi has admitted that he has little information about their CAF Confederation Cup opponent, Etoile Filante, but remains confident of securing victory.

The Nigerian champions, who received a bye in the previous round, are set to face the Burkinabe side in the first-leg of the second preliminary round at the Mamadou Konatè Stadium in Bamako, on Friday.

Speaking to the club’s media, Yemi acknowledged the challenge but emphasized Enyimba’s winning mentality.

“We don’t really have information about our opponent, but I’m sure they have been following us,” Yemi said.

“We are Enyimba FC, and we know what the club represents. Winning is our culture, and we will go and fight to represent the club and secure a positive result.”

Enyimba are aiming to progress to the lucrative group stage of the competition after recent struggles in continental tournaments.

The People’s Elephants remain the only Nigerian club to have won both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup.
