Manchester United have signed Leicester City and England International Harry Maguire for a world-record £85 million.
According to reports in the UK, Man United eventually succumbed to Leicester’s outrageous asking price for the 26 year-old defender on Friday.
Maguire, who has been left out of the Foxes’ most recent pre-season trip to Italy, was also a transfer interest for United’s neighbors, Manchester City.
On Friday news emerged of Leicester issuing new jersey numbers ahead of the 2019/20 season as well as the player’s likely move.
Nigeria International, Kelechi Iheanacho, according to reports, will wear the number 14 in the new season, while Belgian, Youri Tielemans picked up the Nigerian’s old number – 8.
Meanwhile, Maguire retains his number 15 and will wait until Manchester United makes an official announcement on his transfer and his number – Andreas Pereira currently wears 15 at United.
