Bright Osayi-Samuel Faces Potential Arrest in Turkey

Fenerbahçe defender Bright Osayi-Samuel may face potential arrest upon his return to Turkey from international duties with Nigeria this week.

This development stems from an incident during the match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe on March 17, where Osayi-Samuel and two of his teammates confronted a pitch invader.

According to Turkish sports newspaper Fotospor, the pitch invader, dubbed the ‘knife-wielding joker’, has filed complaints against Osayi-Samuel and his teammates for their actions during the confrontation.

The complainant’s lawyer, Miraç Kara, has accused the players of using excessive force, claiming that they kicked the victim’s head on the ground with their strong calves, potentially causing severe injuries.

Kara further highlighted the boots with crampons worn by the players as potential weapons, emphasizing the risk of severe harm, including brain hemorrhage, from such actions.

He urged the authorities not to wait for a tragic outcome before taking statements from the Fenerbahce players involved.

Currently, Osayi-Samuel is in Morocco with the Nigeria national team for a friendly match against Mali’s Eagles.
