Brentford’s Nigerian midfielder, Frank Onyeka, is reportedly seeking a move away from the club before the current transfer window closes.

The defensive midfielder is unhappy with his lack of playing time at the London club and expressed his desire to leave back in July.

However, Brentford has so far refused to approve any move.

Last season, Onyeka made just 11 Premier League starts, with Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen, and Vitaly Janelt all preferred in Brentford’s midfield lineup.

This season, his situation has not improved, with Onyeka playing only 17 minutes against Liverpool and 8 minutes against Crystal Palace, failing to make a single start so far.

Several clubs from Spain, France, and England are reportedly monitoring Onyeka’s situation.

According to the Evening Standard, Brentford is open to letting the midfielder go but only on a permanent transfer.

With the transfer window closing this Friday, time is running out for interested clubs to make a move.

Onyeka signed a new contract with Brentford last summer that runs until June 2027, which may deter potential suitors due to the likely high transfer fee required to secure his services.

Based on his current market value, transfer fee estimate for Frank Onyeka is between £10 million to £15 million.
