Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau will be confirmed the newly elected President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Gusau, the erstwhile Chairman of Chairmen was elected at the 78th Annual General Assembly and Elective Congress held in Benin City this Friday.
Ibrahim Gusau polled 21 votes to beat former 1st vice Seyi Akinwunmi (12) to the position as NFF President.
League Management Company boss Mallam Shehu Dikko finished third with six votes, while Aba Yola and former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peterside Idah had a vote each.
Based on the guidelines of the Electoral process, a runoff election between Chairman of FA Chairmen Ibrahim Gusau, Shehu Dikko and Shehu Akinwunmi was declared by the electoral committee as half of the required votes is 20.5 and it was approximated to 21 +1 as stipulated in the guidelines.
Dikko and Akinwunmi later stepped down before the run off and Gusau becomes the new NFF president, taking over from erstwhile Amaju Pinnick who held the position for eight years.
