Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season.

The Nigerian forward secured the award by receiving the highest number of votes among the nominees.

He beat Chelsea loanee, Ian Maatsen (Borussia Dortmund), RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, and Hoffenheim forward, Maximilian Beier to the award.

In his debut season in Germany, the 23-year-old made a significant impact, scoring 13 goals and providing 8 assists.

Boniface’s contributions were instrumental in helping Xabi Alonso’s team clinch the league title for the first time in their history.

Victor Boniface finished the season as Leverkusen’s top scorer in the domestic league, tallying 13 goals.

Across all competitions, he has netted a total of 20 goals.
