German Champions Bayer Leverkusen clinched their spot in the final with a resilient performance against AS Roma.

Despite a surprise 2-0 lead for Roma at the Bay Arena with ten minutes left to play, Leverkusen fought back to secure a 2-2 draw, advancing 4-2 on aggregate after their first-leg victory in Rome.

The match saw Super Eagles duo of Victor Boniface who boasts five goals in the competition and Nathan Tella with two goals involvement left on the bench for Leverkusen.

Leverkusen demonstrated their depth and determination to secure their place in the final.

Roma initially took control with Leandro Paredes scoring twice from the penalty spot to give his side a 2-0 lead.

However, Leverkusen refused to back down, pulling one back with Gianluca Mancini’s own goal in the 82nd minute.

The comeback was completed in dramatic fashion as Josip Stanisic found the net in the 97th minute, sealing Leverkusen’s place in the final.

This victory marks Leverkusen’s third appearance in the final of a major European club competition.

Furthermore, their unbeaten streak of 49 games in all competitions this season surpasses previous records, highlighting their dominance on the field this season.

Leverkusen will now face Atalanta in the highly anticipated final, set to take place in Dublin, Ireland.
