Deportivo La Coruña, also known as Dépor ABANCA, have officially announced the signing of Nigerian international Blessing Nkor.
The 21-year-old forward has signed a deal that will keep her at Estadio Abanca-Riazor until the end of the season, adding firepower to the club’s attack as they aim to climb the Spanish Primera División Femenina table.
Nkor, capped by Nigeria at both youth and senior levels, arrives with a reputation for scoring goals. Last season, she impressed with Turkish club Gaziantep Asya Spor, netting 12 times.
Her professional journey began in Nigeria with Sunshine Queens before moves to Tanzanian side Yanga Princess and Turkish outfit Gaziantep Asya Spor, showcasing her adaptability across African and European leagues.
Her international debut came in November 2024, representing Nigeria’s Super Falcons in a 2-1 friendly loss to France.
Blessing Nkor also featured in the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers for the 2022 tournament.
Deportivo La Coruña, currently 14th in the Spanish top flight, will hope Nkor’s goal-scoring prowess helps boost their fortunes this season.
Joining a growing list of Nigerian stars in Spain, including Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid), Edna Imade (Granada), and Gift Monday (Costa Adeje Tenerife), Nkor penned down her appreciation on social media:
“A new chapter has begun. A new story is being written. A new home and family I have found. This can only be God. Grateful beyond words.”
