The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has disclosed the reason behind coach Otto Addo’s omission of three key Black Star players for the International friendly against Nigeria.

Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, and Inaki Williams were notable absentees from the 26-man squad selected for the friendly encounter.

The GFA clarified that Paintsil, who recently joined LA Galaxy in the United States, is unable to travel outside the country due to pending immigration documentation procedures.

Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, who missed the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast due to injury, opted to be excused to focus on regaining full fitness.

Additionally, Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams withdrew from the squad to allow himself time for a complete recovery from recent injury setbacks.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Nigeria on March 22nd and then take on Uganda four days later, with both matches set to be held in Marrakesh, Morocco.
