Former Ghana right-back John Painstil says the Black Stars showed character of champions against the Super Eagles and urged them to sustain the momentum.
The Black Stars against all odds beat the favorites Super Eagles to the 2022 World Cup ticket, following their 1-1 draw in the second leg playoff in Abuja on Tuesday.
Thomas Partey scored for the Black Stars in the 11th minute of the game before William Troost Ekong’s penalty restored parity for 11 minutes later.

Speaking after the game, Painstil, stated that beating Super Eagles is not easy and believes the team has enough quality to compete at the Afcon and World Cup.
“Ghana can win the World Cup,” he said on Super Sport. “If this team is kept for long, they can win the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup.”
“Beating Nigeria is not an easy feat, they played like champions, ” he said.
