Team Nigeria’s duo of Grace Nwokocha and Rosemary Chukwuma have qualified for the final of the 100m women’s event.
The sprinters finished second in their heats to advance to the final where they’ll have the opportunity to compete for a medal.
Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma clocked 11.05s, while Grace Nwokocha arrived at the time of 11.06s at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The third Team Nigeria athlete, Joy Udo-Gabriel failed to qualify for the final as she finished fourth in her heat.
Meanwhile, in the 100m men’s event, no Nigerian made the final as Godson Brume, Favour Ashe, and Raymond Ekevwo all failed to qualify.
Finally, in the boxing event, Nigeria’s representative, Yetunde Egunjobi lost to Savannah Alfia of England in the quarterfinals of the Women’s over 48kg-50kg (Light Fly) after round three with five points.
