Manchester United Dimitar Berbatov has urged his former club to find solutions to the contract situation of Odion Ighalo at the club.
Ighalo’s six months loan deal will be coming to an end on May 31st, but the club are hoping to keep him beyond May as the premier is set for a restart in June.
Ighalo’s parent club Shanghai Shenhua are reportedly not interested in extending his loan deal, only permanent transfer that will see them pocket 20 million pounds.
Berbatov has now called the United hierarchy to find solutions to the problem quickly before the season gets underway in June as they can’t afford to lose the striker.
“United need to know what is happening with him. If they know they will lose him, they need to find someone else to replace him.
“If they haven’t already found a replacement, they need to find someone quickly”. He said.
Ighalo has scored four goals in his last three starts for the club with his last strike coming in March against LASK in the UEFA Europa League.
