Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi watched from the bench as West Bromwich Albion took on Hull City on Friday night.
Ajayi has not been able to reclaim his place in the team, since returning from the two separate injuries.
The 29-year-old was conferred a bench role again, as manager Carlos Corberan kept faith with Eric Peters and Dan O’Shea in the heart of the defense.
Ajayi has managed just ten appearances in the Championship for the Baggies this season, with most of them coming before the injury.
West Brom eventually lost the game 2-0, no thanks to goals from Ghanaian striker, Benjamin Tetteh and West Brom defender Dara O’Shea’s own-goal.
With the win, the Tigers recorded their fourth successive home clean sheet to climb to 13th, just two places and three points behind Albion.
Hull are now 14 points clear off the relegation zone and only nine off a play-off spot themselves.
