A Nigerian non-professional football club has written Man United an official invitation for a friendly match as part of pre season for the 2019/20 season.
Iperu Remo FC addressed the letter to Manchester United FC, London , requesting an exhibition game to help the 20 time PL champion prepare better for the new season. Although, it appears the aim of the correspondence is to mock United’s poor run in recent weeks, the letter, dated April 25th, 2019, also points out the English club are well “below standard”.
The letter reads:
IPERU REMO FC
Akesan Road,
IPERU REMO
Ogun State.
25/4/2019
The Manager,
Manchester United FC
London.
Dear Sir,
REQUEST FOR A FRIENDLY MATCH
With all sense of humility, the above football club write to request a friendly match with your team based on your current team performance which is even below our standard.
We are sure the match will improve the performance of your players to perform much better in games. I am very sure shakiru will dribble the hell out of your smalling and he will adjust himself for the new season.
Indeed Man United have been on a bad patch, with recent defeats against Everton (4-0) and Man City (0-2) dealing the club’s top four chances this season a serious blow.
