Believe! Iwobi makes bold AFCON claim

Alex Iwobi believes Nigeria has the quality to achieve great results at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Iwobi was sent off when Nigeria crashed out of the last edition in the round of 16 following a 1-0 defeat to Tunisia.

As they gear up for the tournament in Ivory Coast, the Super Eagles are poised as strong contenders.

“The fans know the quality we have in the team, from each man that is in the squad and the ones that didn’t make the squad, there is a lot of talents in the squad,” Iwobi told the Super Eagles media.

“We have confidence we can go far in this competition, but we have to prove it and assure the fans that we can prove ourselves. They can be sure we will make the nation proud.”

The Team is currently camping in Abu Dhabi and will take on Guinea in a friendly game this Monday.

“Preparation has been good, we are in Abu Dhabi right now. We have got some friendlies to warm up before the AFCON,” the Midfielder said.

“Everyone is almost complete here, the squad is almost complete and we are also training well.”

Nigeria will face Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire in Group A.
