Former Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha says South African duo Percy Tau and Thembinkosi Lorch are players who are capable of helping the Bafana Bafana reach the last four of the ongoing African Cup of Nations at the expense of the Super Eagles.
Nigeria and South Africa will battle for a semi-final tickets at the Cairo International Stadium , after both Nations knocked out holders Cameroon and hosts Egypt respectively on Saturday.
The Super Eagles will aim to avenge their 2-0 home loss to the Staut Baxter side during the qualifiers back in 2017, but After with South Africa kicking out Salah and his compatriots on Saturday, Okocha believed Lorch and Tau are capable of repeating another incredible performance against Gernot Rohr‘s side.
“I believe in the team but I’m worried about Lorch and Tau,” Okocha said.
“They look the most dangerous players for Bafana Bafana going forward and they have been instrumental, especially in the last game. Lorch made his debut and he justified his selection, so these are two players I’m worried about.”
Okocha added that , the clash will bring out the best in both teams , but predicted that Nigeria will dig deep to grind out a win.
“It will be a great match and the good thing is that both teams found good form at the right time but of course, as a Nigerian, I will like to see Nigeria go through.
“I will also like to see a good derby match, a match that will represent African football, a classic Afcon match but at the end of the day, let us narrowly win the game.” He concluded.
