Bayern Munich’s star Jamal Musiala admits Super Eagles interest

FC Bayern Munich youngster Jamal Musiala revealed he held talks with Nigerian Football Federation about the possibility of representing Super Eagles at international level.

Born in German to a Nigerian father and German mother, Jamal Musiala is qualified to play for both nation, and England where he began his career.

After several speculations, the teenager however opted to represent Germany, and was part of coach Hansi Flick’s squad to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“So it just came down to me and where I’d feel the most comfortable. So I decided to go to Germany,” the youngster described his dilemma.

“I could have played for Nigeria because it crossed my mind, and I thought about it well. I had good talks with Nigeria and Germany,” Musiala told TeamNigeriaUK3.

Despite Germany’s poor showing in Qatar, young Musiala was among the tournament’s shining stars. He played the three group games and provided one assist.
