Bayelsa Queens Lose To FAR Rabat, Play Simba Queens for Bronze

Bayelsa Queens failed in their bid to reach the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League, following a 1-0 defeat to AS FAR of Morocco on Wednesday.

The Nigerian Champions went into the semi-final clash at the back of back-to-back wins against TP Mazembe and Wadi Degla, but the Moroccans proved to be a difficult knot to crack.

A Ibtissam Jradi’s 27th-minute striker at Stade Prince Moulay EL Hassan in Rabat decided the encounter.

Bayelsa Queens will be aiming to put the disappointment behind them when they battle Simba Queens for the bronze on Saturday.

The Tanzanians lost by the same margin to defending Champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the first semi-final at the same venue.

AS Far will now face Mamelodi Sundowns for the final on Sunday.
