Calvin Bassey will face both his former side Glasgow Rangers as well as International teammate, Victor Osimhen this season in the UEFA Champions League.

Following Thursday’s draw, Bassey’s new team Ajax Amsterdam, were pitted in Group A with Rangers, Liverpool and Napoli.

Bassey only left Rangers for Ajax Amsterdam last month in a deal worth £16.8m, after an impressive 2021-2022 campaign.

Following the draw outcome, the 22-year-old versatile defender, shared his thoughts on the possible return to Ibrox and facing national team pal Victor Osimhen.

“I can’t believe it”, Bassey said as he shared a picture of him shocked and excited at the same time.

The Leicester City academy graduate made his league debut for the Dutch Champions over the weekend.
