CB Calvin Bassey is facing injury concerns ahead of Nigeria’s friendly match against Saudi Arabia next month.

Bassey was involved in Fulham’s EFL Cup win over Norwich City from the start, but was taken off with less than 15 minutes left to play.

Fulham manager revealed he substituted the defender because of back injury and wants to prevent him from further damage.

He added that the player would need to be monitored closely by the club’s medical team ahead of their West London derby against Chelsea, on Monday.

Should he fail to recover for the game, Bassey could be excuse from the Saudi Arabia friendly match.

Calvin Bassey’s absence could be a setback for the team, especially with other injured players like Zaidu Sanusi.

However, Jamilu Collins, who has had his share of injury issues since joining Cardiff City in 2022 could be drafted into the squad.
