NBBF caretaker chairman, Engr. Musa Kida has disclosed that the return of the basketball premier league in Nigeria has nothing to do with his second term ambitions.
Kida explained to brila.net in a telephone chat that the league had court issues right from the beginning of his tenure while affirming that it would have indeed been a pity if Nigeria does not have a representative for the Basketball Africa league ( BAL) or the continental FIBA coperational tournaments.
He also used the medium to quash reports linking the return of the league to his personal ambitions – claiming that the only ambition is having things done in the proper way.
“What I can tell you is that, whatever circumstances we are in, the league has to be held in a way so we can choose a representative the country to play in the BAL and FIBA coperational tournaments.
“It would have been a very big pity, if Nigeria don’t have a team to present or the team was chosen very arbitrally so, people can think whatever they want to think but, am quite happy that the league is back and it has nothing to do with my ambition to serve.
