Basketball In Nigeria Needs CPR – Former NBBF Official

Former board member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Osita Nwachukwu has called for significant improvement in the country’s basketball league.

The NBBF Premier League has been shortened for three consecutive years, a situation Nwachukwu considers detrimental to the development of the sport in Nigeria.

He believes this approach is flawed and urges for immediate action.

“Currently, there is no major investment in the game, and there is no return on investment.

“When you look at the basketball scene in Nigeria, it’s essentially non-existent. What is being done comes purely from love and passion for the game,” Nwachukwu stated.

He added, “I’m telling you the truth, this idea can work anytime, anywhere. When I was on the board, these were some of the ideas we proposed. I believe these initiatives can still be implemented.”
