Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Abiodun Baruwa had explained why the Super Eagles have not been able to pin down a regular number since Vincent Enyeama left the National team.
In a chat with brila.net, Baruwa stated that whoever gets the nod to mount the post should be given all the support to continue in goal even when the player makes mistakes.
‘Once your intuition tells you as the coach to pick a goalkeeper as a starter, you should be prepared to stick to that player,’ He said.
“But what we have experienced in the past five years is a regular change and rotation of goalkeepers due to one mistake or another,’
“This is not good enough, the National team will find it difficult to get a standing number if the handlers continue with this approach.
