Former Nigeria and West Brom LB Ifeanyi Udeze has described Barcelona’s youngster Ansu Fati’s injury history as worrisome and fears it could affect his longevity.
Fati, 19, has been out for most part of this current campaign and the recurring injuries is taking a toll on the La Masia product’s career even for Spain.
He returned from a spell on the sidelines in January but lasted just three matches before picking up another injury.
Although the youngster is back in training for several weeks, reports from Barcelona indicate the Forward is in the final phase of his recovery.
However, according to Catalunya Radio, Fati is likely to stay on the sideline for at least two or three more weeks.
Speaking on Brila FM’s Morning show, No Holds Barred, Udeze expressed concerns that the spate of injuries could cut short Fati’s career.
“At the age of 18, he’s gone under the knife on three occasions and had three major operations.”
“That’s not good for a young player and if it continues that way, how long do you think he’ll play football? Not sure he can play for ten years,” the former Player said.
