Barcelona, Sevilla go head to head for Yahaya Lawali

Newly crowned LaLiga Champions, Barcelona are keeping tabs on Nigeria U17 defender, Yahaya Lawali.

Yahaya is one of the rare talents from the Nduka Ugbade’s Golden Eaglets squad to the CAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

The full back won two man of the match awards from four matches, and was deservedly rewarded with a place in the tournament’s Group phase best XI.

Yahaya Lawali’s talent however caught the attention of the Catalan Giants who have also expressed interest in the player.

Brila.net understands that Barcelona have contacted his club, Mahanaim FC, over a deal, but they’re facing strong competition from Sevilla and other clubs.

Mahanaim FC’s director of media Aro Olaoluwa in a chat with brila.net, stated that, only the right proposals will be considered as Yahaya’s development remains priority for the club.
