Tammy Abraham struck the upright in the first half, showed heart but couldn’t reward Frank Lampard’s faith as the Manager’s premier league debut ended in a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Abraham started of Olivier Giroud in the Blues’ league opener and looked lively in the role until he was substituted in the 66th minute.
However, Lampard wasn’t at all cheerful as his side suffered Chelsea’s biggest ever defeat on opening day in the premier league.

It surely will be a testy first season for Lampard as Chelsea Manager with the club playing in four competitions, plus the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool.
The former Chelsea midfielder will have to pick his players up as they return to action on Wednesday against the 2018 UEFA Champions League winner.
