Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, Leon Balogun played a part in Glasgow Rangers’ impressive win over Real Madrid at the Ibrox Stadium on Sunday.
Balogun started the game from the bench but he was introduced into the game late to help the Gers see out the win.
The former Mainz 05 and Brighton and Hove Albion defender took the place of Connor Golds and was able to make an impact with the few minutes spent on the field.
Leon Balogun has featured on two of Rangers pre-season games before Sunday night and scored a thumping header against Arsenal in last time out.
Brazilian youngster Rodrygo put the record European champions ahead in the 8th minute and it was the only goal from the first 45 minutes.
A much-improved performance from Rangers in the second half turned the tie around and the Scottish giants went on to snatch victory from the visitors.
Fashion Sakala canceled out Rodrygo’s opener five minutes after resumption before Cedric Itten scored the winner on the 77th minute.
The victory is a massive boost for Steven Gerrard’s side will begin their title defense next month.
