Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala finished a respectable 16th on this year’s Ballon D’or ranking.
The Barcelona forward enjoyed a successful campaign, winning domestic treble with Barcelona and guiding the Spanish giants to the final of UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool star also finished last campaign as joint top scorer in the league, despite spending few months on the sideline with injury.
At the 2022 award ceremony in France on Monday, the Lagos-born soccer star was listed among the best 20 Women Footballers in the World and she’s also the first Nigerian (Woman) and African to make the shortlist.
The recognition is a massive boost for Oshoala who recently won the African Footballer of the Year for a record fifth time.
Meanwhile her teammate, Alexia Putellas won the award for the second consecutive year.
