Bafana Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
After initially presenting a provisional list of 36 players last week, Broos has trimmed down the selection, axing 13 individuals.
Among the notable inclusions in the squad are captain Rowen Williams, Percy Tau, and Teboho Mokoena ensuring a strong representation of seasoned stars.
However, the announcement also brings forth fresh talent with Siyabonga Ngezana, Relebohile Mofokeng, and the returning Lyle Foster emerging as promising additions to the team.
Some players failed to secure spots in the final lineup including Evidence Makgopa, Mihlali Mayambela, Tapelo Xoki, and Thabiso Monyane.
South Africa, will clash with Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7.
On June 11 the face Zimbabwe at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
The upcoming fixtures hold significant importance for the team currently positioned in second place in Group C with three points.
