Nigerian midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu is set to join Turkish First Division club Erzurumspor.

Azubuike is in advanced negotiations with Erzurumspor following his departure from Caykur Rizespor.

The defensive midfielder parted ways with Caykur Rizespor after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract on Thursday.

The 27-year-old had joined the Black Sea club from another Turkish side, Istanbul Basaksehir, last summer.

However, he struggled with form and injuries, limiting him to just 14 league appearances during his tenure.

“We parted ways with our professional football player Azubuike by mutual agreement,” Caykur Rizespor announced on its official website.

“We would like to thank Okechukwu Godson Azubuike for his contributions to our team and wish him success in his future career.”
