Lille U19’s new signing, Adeshina Ayodele made an immediate impact by scoring on his European debut as the French side secured a 2-2 draw against Sporting CP in their UEFA Youth League clash, on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old forward, who joined Lille from Nigerian club Beyond Limits during the summer transfer window, was handed a starting spot at the Estadio Aurélio Pereira.

With the match level at 1-1, Ayodeji put Lille ahead in the 62nd minute.

Rising above two defenders, he headed in a superb corner to give his side a crucial advantage.

However, Lille’s hopes of securing all three points were dashed when Sporting’s Freitas Monteiro netted a dramatic equalizer in the 97th minute, forcing a share of the spoils.
