Ayinde, Alozie fit for final Group clash against Ireland

There is an update on Super Falcons’ players’ conditions ahead of their last group game against the Republic of Ireland.

According to Oluchi Tobechukwu, the team’s media officer, there were concerns that some key players might miss the upcoming match due to injuries.

Midfielder Halimat Ayinde suffered from what seemed to be an ankle problem during the previous game against Australia, while right-back Michelle Alozie and veteran defender Osinachi Ohale also sustained knocks.

However, Tobe-chukwu reassured fans that the players are in good shape and are expected to be fit for the match against Ireland.

She added that despite the knocks, the players are doing well, and Desire Oparanozie, who was recovering from knocks, is almost fully fit.

Additionally, she saw Osinachi Ohale walking fine the previous night, further indicating that the players should be ready for the next game.

“They are good, a lot of knocks during the match even prior to that we’ve had Desire Oparanozie on the bench recovering from knocks almost fully fit,” she told Brila FM.

“I saw Ohale last night before going to bed she was walking fine so they should be good before our next game.“

The Super Falcons need just a point from the match against Ireland to secure a place in the Round of 16, and having their key stars available would be crucial for their chances in the tournament.

The Super Falcons will take on Ireland at the Lang Park, Brisbane on Monday.
