Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo expressed hope, that striker Taiwo Awoniyi’s recent injury won’t lead to an extended period on the sidelines.

Awoniyi, who scored in Forest’s 2-0 win against West Ham at the weekend, was substituted in the 67th minute.

The Nigerian has faced challenges with injuries since joining the Reds in 2022, recently recovering from groin surgery.

Nuno Espirito Santo emphasized the need to assess Awoniyi’s condition but remains optimistic that the injury is not severe.

The 26 year-old forward has been a valuable contributor, scoring six goals in 14 league appearances this season.
