Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi opened his goal account for the season as Nottingham Forest cruised to a dominant 3-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux on Monday evening.

Awoniyi, making his 15th league appearance of the campaign, came off the bench in the 88th minute and wasted no time in making an impact.

The 27-year-old forward found the back of the net in stoppage time, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Morgan Gibbs-White to seal an emphatic win for Forest.

The victory marks Nottingham Forest’s sixth consecutive Premier League triumph, a streak that has seen them climb to joint second place with Arsenal on 40 points.

They now sit just six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.

Forest set the tone early in the match, taking the lead in the 7th minute through Morgan Gibbs-White.

Chris Wood doubled the advantage just before halftime, firing home in the 44th minute to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 lead.

Awoniyi’s late strike in the 94th minute added the finishing touches to a stellar team performance.

Also featuring for Forest was Ola Aina, who made his 20th league appearance this season for the in-form side.

Awoniyi will be pleased to have broken his scoring drought despite limited minutes on the pitch.

The Nigerian striker played just eight minutes after replacing Chris Wood but made the most of his time, registering one shot on target, one off target, and five touches.

While he missed one big chance, he redeemed himself by finding the net and contributing to his team’s success.

Next up for Forest is an FA Cup clash at home against Luton Town, followed by a critical Premier League encounter with Liverpool, also at home.

Forest’s relentless form and Awoniyi’s return to the scoresheet will give fans plenty of reasons to stay optimistic as the season progresses.
