Nottingham Forest’s Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi has praised team’s resilience after their Premier League safety was confirmed on the final match day of the season.

The Premier League deducted four points from Nottingham Forest’s points tally back in March due to breaches of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Although the club appealed the decision, an independent appeal board upheld the commission’s ruling.

Awoniyi, who struggled with injuries for most of the season, scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 23 appearances.

In a post on his Instagram, the 26-year-old stated:

“After all is said and done, I am who I am because of you, God. Another year to remember. See you next season, Premier League.”

“Thanks for your support always, and thank you to the fans for helping us to push through. You are truly the best.”

“Come on, you Reds!” he concluded.
