Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem, Says the team is working hard to secure a win against Bafana Bafana of South Africa when both clash in the quarter-final of the ongoing African cup of nations.
The Nigerian side defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-2 1in the round of 16 clash last Saturday to set up a mouthwatering clash with South Africa for a place in the last four.
South Africa and Nigeria met twice during the qualifiers, with the Staut Baxter side winning one and drawing the other, and Awaziem has called upon his side to do their best to avenge the loss.
“We just have to stay focused, we have to fight till the end of the game. We have to be determined, we have to show that we are the best. We have to show that we want the cup and we have to show that we are here to lift the trophy. So with this determination and hard work, we are going to beat them.”
The FC Porto defender has featured in all Nigeria’s matches so far in the competition after coming on as a replacement for the injured first choice right back, Abdullahi Shehu.
