Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem delivered a complete performance for Hajduk Split in their Croatian league game against defeated NK Lokomotiva on Sunday.
The former FC Porto defender scored one of the goals as Hajduk laboured to a hard fought 2-1 win over their visitors.
Awaziem got his side to a flying start when he put them ahead just after the half-hour mark.
Croatian forward Lukas Grgic, then doubled their advantage six minutes later with another fine finish from inside the box.
Awaziem then conceded a penalty in the second half that allowed the visitors to reduced the deficit in the 74th minute.
The defender however made amends to his error as he stood firm in the defense to guide the club to a win.
He completed the most passes, made 10 recoveries, three (3) interceptions and won two aerial duels.
Hadjuk Split will now turn their attention to the Thursday’s Europa League playoff against Villarreal – they lost the first leg 4-2 last week.
