Athletics Federation of Nigeria President Ibrahim Gusau has called on corporate Nigeria to take advantage of the Federal Government’s tax rebate offer to organizations that invest in sports. Gusau admitted it was an “Herculean” task for Sports Federations to bring in the type of sponsorships that will help grow sports as well as support Nigerian Athletes to excel at major international tournaments. The AFN Chief told www.brila.net that as a body they can only appeal and sell the policy of encouragement to stakeholders, urging them to seize the Tax holiday opportunity as proffered by the government.

A body has been seen in the wreckage of the plane which was carrying missing footballer Emiliano Sala, the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has said. Underwater searches were carried out using specialist vessels on February 3 over the priority search area and, according to AAIB, uncovered an “object of interest” on the seabed. Emiliano Sala’s father has spoken of his anguish and disbelief after the wreckage of the plane carrying the missing Cardiff City footballer was discovered in the English Channel.
