West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere is facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing ankle surgery, the Premier League club has announced. Wilshere, 26, had an operation on Monday after missing Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League win at Everton because of his injury. The 2nd Nigeria Taekwondo International Open has been sanctioned by the WTF as the ruling body has awarded a G-1 International ranking to the event which is to take place on November 16 to 18 in Abuja, Nigeria. The Referee association of Ghana has handed bans to dozens’ more officials in the wake of the country’s damaging match-fixing scandal. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) last month handed life bans to one Ghanaian official and 10-year bans to seven others. That followed the broadcast of hidden camera footage in June that showed officials taking bribes, including the then second most powerful official in African football,  Kwesi Nyantakyi. Ivan Gazidis has resigned as chief executive of English football club Arsenal to move to Italy’s AC Milan after almost a decade at the club, Arsenal Holdings Plc said on Monday. Vinai Venkatesham, currently the chief commercial officer, becomes managing director and will lead the club along with the head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, who was appointed as Head of Football, the company said.
