Nigeria’s basketball senior men national team, D’Tigers, have won the 3×3 FIBA Africa Basketball Championship held in Lome, Togo. D’Tigers defeated Congo by 21 points to 9 in the Basketball finals. Azouma Dike won the most valuable male player award, beating Ivory Coast’s Tisiane Traore and Elly Randriamampionona of Madagascar. Meanwhile, the women’s team, D’Tigress, settled for silver after narrowly losing to Mali by 11points to 12. Mali’s Nassira Traore beat Uganda’s Jamla Masikombi and Nigeria’s Nkechi Akashili to the most valuable female player award.
