Captain of Nigeria Professional Football League side Rivers united Festus Austin is lamenting the form of the Port Harcourt based side of late after going five straight games without a win following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw away to Plateau United in Jos.
Austin speaking in a chat with brila.net described the experience as a very painful one and nightmarish for the players who have been disturbed by how quickly things have changed within the space of five games for the club losing out on the continent and also winless in three league games in between.
He also rued the inability of the team to see out the lead against Plateau united before conceding late from the penalty spot to draw the game.
“We’re believing to win but we couldn’t get it. It’s like a nightmare but it’s very painful but we just have to put it behind us. When you look at the situation on ground, you will feel bad but we just have to move ahead.”
