Atule demands ₦1m monthly salary, ₦4m sign-on fee to join Rivers United

The last hasn’t been heard about Joseph Atule’s reported transfer from Lobi Stars to Rivers United.

The move could drag on for long time as negotiations are very much on between the winger’s entourage and Rivers United.

Reports in the media claimed the Lobi Stars winger has agreed to join the former NPL Champions for a monthly salary in the region of  ₦600,000.

However, in an interview with The Athletic.NG, Atule refuted the claims, stating nothing has been signed, but, he confirmed the Club contacted his management.

“No, it’s not a done deal because I’m still in talks with Rivers United,” the Player said.

“What they are offering me is not what I desire, as I am currently earning more than that at Lobi Stars.

“I requested a monthly salary of one million naira and four million naira for my signing-on fees over a two-year contract.

“The chairman mentioned that we have no issue with those figures. That was our last conversation, and negotiations were paused there.”

Atule enjoyed a decent campaign with Lobi Stars last term, scoring five times and provided five assists in 17 league appearances.
