Asisat Oshoala’s return to the UEFA Women’s Champions League has suffered a set back after the striker pulled a hamstring over the weekend in a league match.
Asisat, whose last Champions League appearance was in 2015 with Liverpool, was guaranteed a place in Barcelona’s squad for Wednesday’s quarter-final first-leg tie against LSK Kvinner until early diagnosis showed she wouldn’t recover in time.
The Nigerian was replaced in minute 73 of the historic Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino clash against Atletico Madrid.
She pulled a hamstring in her left thigh and has since been confirmed to be a major absentee for Barcelona in the first-leg of their quarter-final match.
