Asisat Oshoala led Bay FC to a 1-0 victory over Racing Louisville in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The Nigerian forward scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute, securing three points for her team at PayPal Park.
Oshoala’s match-winning goal came after a blocked attempt from Penelope Hocking. Seizing the opportunity, Oshoala pounced on the loose ball and calmly slotted it into the left post.
This is her fourth goal of the season, three of which have directly contributed to Bay FC’s victories. This is also her second goals in as many encounters against Racing Louisville this year.
This win strengthens Bay FC’s hold on a playoff position, moving them up to sixth in the NWSL standings with 24 points.
Bay FC will now focus on their next challenge, an away fixture against North Carolina Courage on September 13 at WakeMed Soccer Park.
