Nigerian sprinter Favour Ashe dazzled in the men’s 100m event at the NCAA East Preliminary on Friday.

Ashe’s remarkable performance saw him clocking a new Personal Best (PB) of 9.94 seconds (+1.4), marking the fastest time recorded in the NCAA this year and the second fastest globally.

 

With this performance, Ashe has now secure a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, and heading into the event as a top contender to clinch the title in Eugene.

Earlier this year, He won at the Florida Relays, where he blazed to a Paris Olympics qualifying standard with a phenomenal time of 9.99 seconds (0.7).

This victory was not only enough for Olympics qualification, but also established him as the fastest man in 2024.

During the Florida Relays, the Nigerian left his competitors trailing behind, with Jamarion Stubbs finishing second in 10.18 seconds and Jamal Miller securing third place with a time of 10.19 seconds.
