In the opening round of the men’s singles event of the Seamaster 2019 ITTF World Tour Hang Seng Hong Kong Open, Quadri Aruna beat Zheng Peifeng to advance to the second round of the championship.

The Nigeria golden boy seeded 15tg flew the flag for Africa as he dispatched China’s Zheng Peifeng in a close contest with a 12-10, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 5-11, 10-12, 11-5 win.

After destroying the 2018 Czech Open Champion, The African number one will now meet Tomokazu Harimoto in the next round.

The win is a morale booster for Quadri who was impressive in the China Seamaster before he was eliminated in the second round.
